Annual General Meeting (Lord’s Day, June 2nd) 

As a registered charity, the Local Church of the Saints in Toronto is required by the government to hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) once a year with the “members of the corporation.” A “member” of the corporation is only for the purpose of attending the AGM (business meeting) every year. Please mark June 2nd @ 3pm on your calendars to attend this required meeting. Brothers and sisters who have regularly joined our Lord’s Day meetings for the past 12 months or more may apply to become new members (subject to approval).

It is important to note the distinction as this membership does NOT affect the saints’ status as members of the Body of Christ, since in the eyes of the Lord each genuine believer is a member of His Body.

Brothers from each district will check the AGM members list to ensure that we have up-to-date contact details.

International Memorial Day Blending Conference (May 24–27)

The International Memorial Day Blending Conference will be held in Bellevue, WA in-person from May 24–27. A webcast of this conference is also available for saints in Eastern Canada in our time zone.

Shuttle Service

The local church in Toronto would like to resume our shuttle service from the corner of Lawrence Ave. & Carnforth Rd. to the meeting hall. The shuttle phone number is 437-262-9119. Saints who would like to avail of the shuttle service, please send an SMS text this week with an approximate arrival time to the corner so that serving saints can arrange pick up. 

Morning pursuit (Tuesday to Friday) 

The church in Toronto has regular morning pursuit from Tuesdays to Fridays from 9 AM to 10:15 AM. These times are open to all the saints to join with the topics listed below:
• Tue: Life-Study messages for the week
• Wed: Watchman prayer: Lord’s move in Europe, Canada and USA, next generation, by languages
• Thu: Training preparation by reading Life-Study messages
• Fri: PSRP on the week’s HWMR message

Giving towards the burden for downtown 

Having a student center as a base downtown is crucial to the Lord’s increase in Toronto. Since this is related to the Lord and His body, this burden is not limited to those who live downtown but should be received by all of us. Let us bring this matter to the Lord in prayer, and if the Lord touches you to give financially towards this burden, please indicate “Downtown” on the memo.

Offerings

During this pandemic, we appreciate the saints’ continued financial giving towards the church. Funds can go into one of the following categories:

“General” or “Work” or “Needy Saints” or “Video” or “Books” or “Building”

The serving saints have noticed that some funds have been going into the church’s donation accounts but designated to named individuals. This type of donation through the church account is NOT permitted under government (CRA) regulations.

If the saints wish to do so, they can give the funds directly to the person, or to remain anonymous, they can place cash in a sealed envelope and hand it to the district brothers, who can relay it to the offering brothers for delivery.
